Indeed, Newcastle is the dark horse in Group F, and of course there will be surprises for big teams like PSG and Milan. However, if you look at the three consecutive defeats experienced by Newcastle in the EPL, I doubt they will give a surprise in the Champions League, they are no longer like last season, who had a high fighting spirit and compact players. So I see that Newcastle's chances of qualifying for the group phase are very difficult because in the Champions League it is no longer about players or tactics but also mentality that will speak here. I see Newcastle coach Eddie Howe is still doubtful because he has no experience at all in the Champions League.
Movements in the transfer market that seemed mediocre indicated that it was as if Newcastle did not have a target after ensuring themselves qualification for the Champions League. Even though they have a lot of money to bring in classy players, the club management doesn't do that which gives the impression as if they already have a strong enough squad or are able to compete with other top clubs. The reality that happened after the division of the group reversed from what they thought, Newcastle joined the group of hell which was inhabited by other strong clubs. PSG, AC Milan and Dortmund are not just any teams, Newcastle will have great difficulty getting into the round of 16 due to the very competitive competition in Group F.

Newcastle poor performance at the start of the season made their chances even smaller, they were only able to win 1 win and 3 defeats in the 4 matches they had played in the Premier League. The negative results obtained by Newcastle in the EPL make me doubt that Newcastle will be able to go further in the UCL, especially since their coach doesn't have enough experience in the UCL.
