Just to give you an idea, if you put 8 sat/byte, it will take more than 1000 blocks to confirm, so if you put 7 or 6 sat/byte as the fee, you may have to wait a lot longer.
According to
mempool.space, the purging fee rate for the nodes that use the default setting is now around 6.8 sat/vbyte.
This means that if you make a transaction with the fee rate of 6 sat/vbyte now, your transaction will be probably rejected by most nodes and it won't enter their mempool at all.
