And I don't know whether everyone will agree with my following statement, namely that I feel the level of play in the Saudi Pro League is very close to the level of play in other European leagues. And I think next season the Saudi Pro League will be really similar to the European League in its excitement.
The four clubs that are under the majority ownership of the Saudi Public Investment Fund do have quality players and whenever they play amongst themselves the quality of play is quite high. But the problem is that out of the 18 teams participating in the Saudi Professional League this season, only 4 of them are supported by the SPIF (Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahli and Al-Nassr). Some of the clubs that are not supported by the SPIF (such as Al-Ettifaq) have performed well in recent times, but in general there is a wide gap between the 4 clubs and the other 14.
