Chelsea needs to step up their game, it's no news that Chelsea is performing poorly right now because of the players have not yet blended. Take for instance the likes of Caicedo, he has not yet blend into the team, he still loses the ball at critical positions on the football pitch. Moreover, the formation setting isn't working for the team, 3-4-2-1 seriously seems crazy. Despite Chelsea having a high percentage of the ball so far, no doubt they will want to make it count in the score board soon, else it is all a waste.
Just like last season, Chelsea started this season with some bad luck despite all the players they signed. I can’t imagine a team that spent so much money during the January transfer window and the just concluded transfer window performing poorly like teams that didn’t even sign any players.
I think there is no excuse by the players any more; they all have the time to blend into the team and the League style of play, while some of them were even bought from Premier League clubs, which means they now have experience about how the Premier League works. I feel that it is just a management issue, or the new coach needs to strategize and set out a very good squad to take Chelsea to the next level, or else they will not be able to compete for the title and may end up not qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Manchester United also need to improve before other teams at the top of the table set a big gap between them.
Manchester United's team is not bad; it's just that they actually needed to step up before the points gap became too big.
Their last match against Arsenal actually affected their League position as they were just two points ahead of Chelsea; nevertheless, they are just six points behind Manchester City and four points behind the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, and others. I think they need to improve after this international break and move the team to the top.
