The default coordinator knows nothing as far as I can tell from the unit tests. As I have said before, the default coordinator initiates a requests for every coinjoin in Coinfirm, they get the input (which is the list of the wanna-be-mixed inputs) and with probably no questioning selects which coin is "naughty" and removes it from the array.  In fact, in that thread we've covered how a Sybil attack could be executed that way.
