I seriously agree with you on this. But I wouldn’t blame it on age but rather evolution of football pattern. De Gea Is the best shot stopper you would ever find in his era, and if people want to use this to rate Onana then it will be hard not to find fault in his performance. De gea was definitely lacking in his ball playing ability although many will say it is not part of a goalkeeper’s duty but we have all seen how that has change modern football. Onana ability to play out from the back is an excellent value and addition to team and will help shape the way they play. Also Onana has a better shot stopping ability but the Media are just after him to prove a point. De gea also had very poor start to his united career and also to the start of last season.
The only thing is the goalkeeping department is not entirely why United are conceding goals like they do, the other parts need to do their work properly. Personal i haven’t seen a single goal conceded this season that I would say is the fault of the goalkeeper but rather sluggish play or defending by other players
