Crypto affiliates and influencers only do their job, namely influencing their followers or audience in general to follow those they affiliate or influence. In this case, when they are paid to promote or influence other people and especially work together as affiliates, they will do various things to attract new customers or their users.
If their jobs are potentially harmful for their followers, they should think deeply and carefully before taking action. They are influencers because they have high number of followers, big communities so they must think more carefully before they shill any project, even they think it is their job.

As a person who does not have many followers, my words mean nothing and won't affect many people but as a big influencer, if they shill a scam project, many of their followers will be scammed.

In this case, it could be that they actually don't care what the project is, but they only care about the rewards they can get when more and more people watch or even participate directly through their affiliates. This will be profitable for them. So most of them won't care what happens next to the people.
In some nation like in the UK, shilling projects will be regulated more and considered as illegal. They will ban all advertisement of gambling casinos in Premier League.
