I expected a better performance from England. In the previous series, England won every match against New Zealand by a big margin. They won the last two matches by 181 and 100 runs respectively. I thought we would see a similar performance from England against Ireland. And they will win by a large margin. But England won by 48 runs.
Yeh I admit that fans expect a better performance from a top team like England but one things we should put in mind that most of England starting XI against Ireland was not thier normal starting XI player but the new one and still they delivered some good results. Most of the team underestimate Ireland and think it's weaker but believe me they has ability to departure any big team toward pavilion and they already done against England in test series when they dismissed entire team below 100.
Anyway from England side jacks and Sam done a phenomenal job and scored a significant critical runs which really help them to score a big defendable target while during target chase Ireland unable to took a good start which put his team on a track toward his destination but unfortunately at the end they can't delivered perfectly and thus lose the important match by small margin
