Both trading and long-term investment can be profitable...

Trading Can be profitable for those with a deep understanding of markets, technical analysis, and a willingness to actively manage positions. It involves short-term buying and selling to capitalize on price fluctuations.

Otherwise Investment Typically involves a long-term approach, where assets are held for an extended period. Historically, long-term investments in assets like stocks and cryptocurrencies have shown the potential for significant returns over time.

The choice between trading and investment depends on your risk tolerance, time commitment, and financial goals.

Exactly,  both are profitable if you can maximize the usages of each venues, like what you mentioned,  trading is a never-ending learning process as volatility and market movements are very important to anticipate the possible next market run, either bull or bear if you know how to anticipate the right way you can position yourself and earn decent benefits.

While with investment,  it can be a long-term position that you need to wait to matured then enjoy the maximum potential growth of your investment.
It's easier said than done, and from what I know of trading and investment, you can get more money in trading, but it comes with a higher risk as well, while the risk in investment is lower and can over time hand you a moderate amount of return depending on the asset. You will need extensive learning and training for trading and must be sure of knowing the rudiments of self-control, money and risk management and how to effectively plan your trading system and portfolio as a whole.

These are no joke in the real sense, which is why I always prefer investments for those who are of the faint mind. They may think they will win but might end up losing money. But investment still gives somewhat rest of mind and fewer tasks from your side, particularly if the asset does not fail.
