Ive been asking this question here in ANN thread and the contest thread but I still haven't received a reliable answer. The only ones who can answer this is the management team running the contest and those who have received the free spins.
I guess I participated in the contest five times if I'm not mistaken and won three times but never received a free spin. To me it seems like it's just a prop in the consolation prize.
