I don't think that anyone in this forum do have an issue with legal immigration. The issue is only with the illegal variety.
It's not illegal to request asylum.
It's not illegal to enter the country after requesting asylum while waiting for your court date.
This is how the vast majority of undocumented immigrants enter through the southern border. It's easy to call them illegals because they aren't legal citizens, but what they're doing isn't illegal.
There are a lot of people out there who would claim that the illegals need to be shown humanity and regimes must tolerate them. But is this the right approach?
Yes. Imo, human decency is the right approach.
Agree on human decency but I reckon in the present circumstances of their economy, it might be safe to assume that they need to be stricter on border controls? Much of the people who enter the country illegaly do not pay taxes and I am not trying to repeat racist arguments, however, they do get some job opportunities from legal immigrants who pay their taxes.
Also, the Mexican cartel from the other side of the border has made a business out of moving people across the border every year. They might be including their own members. I am quite certain that you would agree that this needs to be controlled.
