I don't think Girona will fight for the title. Girona may be playing very well right now, top of the points table. But it is very difficult to maintain such consistency until the end of the season. It won't be possible for a team like Girona. Perhaps in the next few weeks we will start to see the deterioration of Girona.
Real Madrid are trying to grab the top spot in the points table. They are only 1 point ahead of Barcelona. If you want to keep the top spot in the table, you have to win every match consistently. Barcelona team is strong. And so if Real Madrid can't maintain consistency, they won't be able to hold the top spot in the table. Madrid will not think about anything other than a win against Girona in the next match.
They've suprisenly got this far but I don't think they'll be league contender this season, gradually when the league gets more tougher they'll begin to decline in both form and position due to fatigue and quality squad depth, they didn't invest much on quality players that could help them through the season so I don't think they might survive for a very long time,however they've been very impressive so far and I'm suprised at their performance this season, cause they've won 6 games out of 7 and are currently the league leaders with a point ahead of Realmadrid and Barcelona.
Realmadrid suffered a defeat in their debut match against Atletico Madrid and that was their 1st defeat so far but yesterday they won 2-0 against Las Palmas and their next match would be against Girona on Saturday away from home, i don't think they'll like to take any chances or drop any points again, though Girona are in very good form this season Realmadrid are definitely the favourites to win the match.
