I know Wolwerhampton is a team that usually loses points against strong teams in the Premier League, I guess no one would have expected them to beat the invincible Manchester City. It was interesting that Manchester City's only goal was from a set piece. They looked for so many positions to score a goal, but only Alverez had a freekick goal, by the way, the goal was magnificent.
Manchester City are still the leaders tonight, with eight shots on target, too many missed goals. After this defeat, Guardiola will go on a long match-winning streak.
If I was told Manchester City will play with the second team vs Wolverhampton, I will still say City will win or at worst get a draw! I didn't expect them to lose especially after they were kicked from EFL Cup these days..
Not only City lost their game but the second surprise was the defeat of Manchester United vs Crystal Palace. There is the 6 goals received by Brighton vs Aston Villa that were surprising.
Liverpool match vs Spurs were intense with 2 red cards from the Liverpool side and the late goal made Spurs collect 3 important points and move to the second place. If Liverpool won that game they would be first.
Usually Manchester United should win the game, but I don't think it was as much a surprise as the Manchester City game. United has lost 4 out of 7 games and they are not playing very well. There isn't enough pressure despite the fact that they have many good players. They score 1 goal per game.
Aston Villa was impressive, but they have already had a few games that I liked a lot. They are determined and what is interesting is how much they make out of their relatively low possession.
Liverpool must be disappointed I just saw some scenes from the game. I think there couldn't have been more bad coincidences for them. But the first red card was insanity by the Liverpool player. That leg could have been broken. Nacho from Real Madrid made a similar foul against Girona. What is wrong with these guys?
