We have two world cup warmup matches scheduled for today. Bangladesh will take on England, at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. And in the second match New Zealand will be playing against South Africa at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. I am not sure about the weather at Guwahati, but I heard that it is raining non-stop at Trivandrum. So the second match may get washed out. India's final warmup match is scheduled for tomorrow, at Trivandrum against Netherlands. Once again, this match is under the threat of rain interruption.
As per the weather information, Bangladesh vs England match and New Zealand vs South Africa match are likely to be abandoned due to rain. Meteorologists have said that with intermittent rains, there may be downpours in the region, so there are fears about these two warm-up matches. If this match between Bangladesh and England is abandoned due to rain, England will miss two warm-up matches as their first match against India has already been abandoned due to rain.
On the other hand, if the match between South Africa and New Zealand is abandoned due to rain, South Africa will miss out on playing two warm-up matches as they were unable to field in the first match against Afghanistan due to rain.
Even if the match is not abandoned due to rain, it is more likely to be played in fewer overs.
