Real Madrid playmaker, Lukas Modric is an experienced player that have lifted significant and memorable titles with Real Madrid, his respects is earned through years of commitment to Los Blancos at Santiago Bernabeu. Carlo Ancelotti resting the Croatia international is simply because there's replacement for him and the coach is eager to watched these young talents play good football without the guidance of these senior players. Though Toni Kroos is been effective in games, but still have backup, weak bones doesn't generate vital results for the team.
There shouldn't be any debate about him because in the end he will be replaced by another player, and a team that can make changes to its players at the right time will be able to keep the team stable in its performance, and I think Luca Modrid won't have a problem with that either because he certainly realizes that his time at Real Madrid will not be long so the team will slowly start to replace him with younger players.
Real Madrid has been quite successful this season with their young players, at least that's what has been seen so far, and next season it is very possible that they will be even stronger because the players are getting more compact and they just need to find a replacement for Ancelotti who can make this team even better.
I think Luca Modric and Toni Kroos realize that they are starting to age and it is natural that they no longer get regular playing time. But Modric and Kroos are still really needed by Ancelotti, their experience really helps the team both on the pitch and in the dressing room. I think if some people complain about the lack of opportunities given to senior players then that is very wrong, because it is no longer possible for Ancelotti to force them to continue playing, especially in high level matches.
Luka Modric is 38 years old, of course his strength is decreasing and it is time for young players to replace him so that the club's performance remains stable, but in my opinion, Toni Kroos is not too old, he still has enough energy at Real Madrid like Lewandowski who plays at Barcelona, he already has 35 years old but his performance has not declined, I think Real Madrid still needs senior players who are certainly more experienced than replacing them with young players who actually lack experience.
Young players still have optimal strength, but if they lack experience it will actually cause the club's performance to decline and they need to adapt well and build cooperation in order to be successful in facing the match.
Luka Modric has been one of the best midfielders of his generation and same is his Real Madrid teammate Toni Kroos but because their age, they seem not to be as energetic as they were some few years back and playing for a club like Real Madrid requires to fitness and strength.
I think their time at the Santiago Bernabeu is almost coming to an end because of their age and the Spanish club doesn't need to be search for their replacements as they already have perfect replacement for them in the persons of Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni and Camavinga not forgetting the very impressive Jude Bellingham who can still play in their positions
