Max Verstappen is the clear favorite for the remaining races of the season. If Mclaren or Mercedes finish the season without winning a race, it will be the first time since 2007 that a Mercedes powered car has not won a race in a season. My prediction is that they will finish the season empty. Also Mercedes factory team, Mercedes Amg Petronas, has won a race every year since 2012. But that will come to an end if they don't win. It would be a disappointing situation for Mercedes to end the season without a win. A major overhaul of the team seems likely.
I'm not much hopeful about a Mercedes or McLaren driver to get a win in the remaining races. Japan was the only chance for them. But Sainz defended Norris - Russell duo amazingly at the same time and his strategy was a really smart one.
Now I think there is no way Verstappen giving other drivers a single chance.Verstappen has become even more ambitious for the remaining races. He wants to win every last one of them by at least 20 seconds. By the way I would also like to add a piece of interesting information related to this season. As far as I know currently Verstappen and Hamilton are the only drivers who have got points in every race.
