Although I believe that a failure to reach the next stage in the Champions League might put this topic to rest once and for all because Mbappe may feel the need to one day win that title and it is simply not possible with PSG. Losing 4-1 against Newcastle, and this is not to disrespect Newcastle whatsoever, is not worthy of a Champions League title contender at all. They can lose a game 2-1 or maybe get a late counter attack goal against them and it ends 2-0, but this result is disappointing and not to forget they have all these super players on board.
