He tried last season but somehow I didn't really like their signings in defense and some of the other decisions that were made there like bringing back Evans as an alternative in defense and trying to keep Maguire even though there were offers that were detrimental but with Maguire's performance in the previous few seasons I think it could be a good choice with the value that West Ham offered.
At the moment they still have to try and find some players and that's something that has to happen because at the end of the day even if their attack is always scoring goals it won't mean much if their defense is weak and always conceding goals.
@topbitcoin Ten Hag wasted 55 million on Mount when he could have used that money to upgrade the defence and even if he’s given the opportunity to upgrade the defence the club will have to overpay for the player because he’ll want a player whom he has trained. Lastly Manchester United need to sell defenders to raise cash and buy better player’s but whom they sell will be very important because they failed to sell their defenders in the summer transfer window and without selling I doubt that they can buy in the upcoming transfer window.
Regardless of his current form, buying Mount is meant to add attacking power to their midfield especially for this season we also know that Fred has left and Eriksen is getting older which may be the intention of Ten Hag's regeneration for the midfield but indeed for now their main problem last season is still not resolved by not being too good in defense.
We know that when there was Luke Shaw, Martinez and Varane it was very good but Shaw and Varane are not very young and are prone to injuries now which is what makes them confused in the end.
Manchester United and the Glazer Family must prepare money from now on so that in the winter there is at least one player in defense that they manage to bring.
