Culture contribution for certain activities to became famous and this cockfighting is famous on asian country especially in the Philippines that's why we can't expect it to be known on other parts of the world since some may don't like the idea of betting on animals fight since they find it cruel to watch. Some nationality might judge it because this is not popular to them but they can't do anything to change the tradition of certain countries.
I guess we shouldn't hit another more deep discussion about what's proper way about such different opinions and ignore those since there's no context if we push our belief to the people used to do that activities since they will not get convince to stop and think about its cruel action since this is already part of their tradition. So you are right its just we need to respect each tradition since that's part of their life and we can't change it.
Good point, as tradition continue to those places who cater this kind of gambling, it's hard to convince those gamblers to think about cruelty they don't mind that as most of them know this gambling way back when they are still young, they are continuing it and they are enjoying from how they met the entertainment and the gambling participation that they've got from cockfighting.
