Manchester United and Manchester City both are rumoured to be planning to sign Brighton winger Mitoma in January. I would like to see Manchester United signing him instead because they would make use of a productive player like him more now. They are in a really desperate condition now.

Brighton wants to extend his contract. Undoubtedly, Mitoma will want to leave Brighton if Manchester teams are interested in him, but it is hard to predict which team he will choose. There is a very high level of competition at Manchester City. He will have to compete with star players like Phil Foden and Jack Grealish, but I think he has a slightly better chance of being in the starting 11 at Manchester United. No doubt it will be a difficult decision for him if this transfer happens.

Mitoma is an important palyer in Brighton and his effect on Brighton is the reason to say Brighton won't lose this player easily.
However, Manchester United is not in a good situation and there is a lower chance for Mitoma to accept this offer if Pep Guardiola sends him an offer at the same time. The contract with Mitoma will expire in 2025 and if he continues his good performance he can even be linked to other teams.

Brighton are close to tying Kaoru Mitoma down to a new contract to ward off transfer interest from Premier League rivals.

Mitoma has emerged as a key player for Roberto De Zerbi’s side and is currently only contracted until June 2025. The 26-year-old midfielder has contributed 13 goals and 11 assists in 50 appearances for Brighton since joining the club from Kawasaki Frontale for a fee of just £2.7million in 2021.

Mitoma made everything clear regarding his future and he has been agreed to extend his contract with brighton. Zerbi is known losing more of its important players will be giving bad impact to the club. Brighton is now struggling to go back again to its best performance after it has suffered sharply decline after the lost against chelsea in EFL club. The performance from brighton was average during the last matches. Losing mitoma will make the wing side of brighton will be even badly than this time.

That's the reason why zerbi is not accepting him to leave from the club and he was convincing mitoma to extend his contract with brighton. Brighton is now starting to face disastrous season.
Im also aware if brighton is now slowing down its tempo on its gameplay unlike when it was playing so fast at the early of season.
No reason to sell another important player. Losing sanchez and caicedo already impacted the club a lot. There's no guarantee if brighton will able to find someone who can play as good as mitoma.
