We shouldn't be greedy when we're gambling or we'll regret it, we should have a budget for how much we want to spend for gambling daily and have a limit on how much we can wager on each bet. I place my bet without any regrets, I don't mind if I lost or win but I try not to be tempted to increase my bet just because I feel I'm going to win that particular game. It's always when you feel you'll win that the house wins. Be comfortable with what you win when you bet and move to the next game.

I play sport betting more often and my limit is betting $50 for each game I want to stake on, even for games that one side is more favorites to win and I want to bet against the best team or for the best team, my wager would still be $50, doing this helps me to  not get tempted to increase my wager
Getting greedy while gambling is probably the number one reason why people lose way more money than what they had on their budget, as once they get some wins they immediately think about how they could change their life if they could keep those wins coming, so greed causes those gamblers to ignore a very important fact, that sooner or later that good luck will disappear and it will be replaced by bad luck and then the profits they had obtained will go down until they became losses.
