I don’t think today’s generation is that much understanding. They want money to be thrown away for big parties and booz and even after that their bank balances are not getting moved an inch. This makes it act of non humanly but who cares these days.
Rather than them middle class person would know the pain of hunger and they will go and donate the money. Though OP you have good thoughts I hardly think billionaire cares if it’s out of their good thinking league.
I don't know where this mindset of villainizing rich people came from but it should really stop. Just because they have the means to provide for those inneed doesn't mean they are required to. At the end of the day it's their money and we don't have a say as to how and where they'll spend it on. Moreover, who's to say that they're not helping out in their own way? Do they have to broadcast their every move? Does their act of helping and donating money be more in numbers and volumes just because they have more money than middle class people?
Just because someone's a billionaire doesn't mean they're a bad person, society just gave them this "responsibility" to provide for the less fortunate ones even though we really shouldn't have a say regarding this.
This happens because people have a mistaken understanding of the economy, they think that if a person has more than them then this means everyone else has to make do with less in order to allow such a rich person, what they forget is that those people are the ones that generate the most wealth and the most jobs as well, so even if you could redistribute their wealth forcibly, something we have seen in some dictatorial countries on the past, the rest of the population will gain a small boost over the short term, but then no one will want to invest in that country or create a small business leading to the downfall of that government and its people.
