A lot of the results we have seen in the last season in the Europa League were not based on luck only. Manchester United played a horrible second game against Sevilla when they lost 3-0. The first game involved some luck when Sevilla scored 2 goals and was able to tie the game I think with an own goal as well. But the biggest shock was when Arsenal got eliminated. They were by far the biggest favorite and yet they got kicked out.

This season though the winner will probably have to beat Liverpool. I know that they have their bad games as well, but I think in the Europa League they will still be one of the hardest nuts to crack.
But when looking at the context at the beginning of the discussion I did this also did not refer to the favorite club because seeing from the conditions of the previous 2 seasons we even always see some big clubs who are the favorite champions for the Europa League but in the end the champions are unexpected clubs.
So when saying with certainty now that a club can immediately win even when the match has only started 2 times in the group phase even though it is good for confidence but it is not a certainty.
Because in the end there could be several other possibilities that occur even though Liverpool is strong but it is only one possibility for them to become champions not a sure thing as long as there is no proof until the end.

Yes yes, I am not arguing against you. In fact I am arguing like you, I agree with what you are saying.

There are some teams that seem to be the big favorites because we are aware of what they did in the past. Take Liverpool as an example and we all still think of those games against Barcelona in the Champions League and how they won the title in the end. But times have changed and Liverpool changed as well. They are not as stable anymore and in two games lots of good teams would have a chance against them. It is just a question of odds, but odds don't mean automatism. I would in most games think that Liverpool has slightly better chances to win, but as you said last season was proof enough that the favorites can be sent home pretty quickly one after another.
