I believe the key here was Dortmund selling them their key player’s and had Dortmund taken a stand of not selling them then it would have been pretty different for Bayern but then again Dortmund was always interested making money only so not really surprised they sold to their direct rival. Furthermore other clubs failed because they lacked the winning mentality that Bayern has and until they learn to cultivate it they won’t win the league title.
