Hamas is targeting cryptocurrency wallets and Indian business man is already a victim. He had already lost half a million dollar to the cyber wings of Hamas. This had happened two years back and the Police had struggled to find the end users of the Wallets. By the time Israel intelligence agency have given list of suspected wallets. The security agencies of India had identified the stolen funds ended with the Wallets operated by the cyber terrorism wing of Hamas called al Qassam brigades. Though the incident took place long back, we need to be keeping things in a much secure manner.
Which wallet was the man using because the wallets we're using to store our Bitcoin is very important. Many people don't take this warning very serious and they'll regret not doing that because using centralized wallets are a threat to our Bitcoin. And when you use a non custodial wallet you till need to be careful because when you exposed your seed phrase or private key, your coins are no longer secured and they can be hacked just like what happened to the business man. We should use offline wallets like hardware wallets or even though we have to use online wallets like electrum, we should use them in an airgapped device. When you do this you have hack proof your coins and they will be stored safely until you're ready to sell. A lot of war is going on and the terrorists behind this wars need funding, the easiest way they can get that is through cryptocurency and users involved will be the target so we have to be wise and protect our coins.
Also avoid free things, when it's too good to be true then it means you are the price, if you have to claim free tokens make sure you have a separate wallet for this, I also believe that a hardware wallet is the safest as it requires the hardware wallet to make transaction anyway, they don't cost a fortune.
Creating an online wallet has no cost so I understood understand why people still use their main offline wallet for free things that could cause them to lose everything in their wallet. People are so used to getting free things like giveaways, airdrop and that's why it'll be very hard for them to let go of free things completely, some members built their wealth on free things and they think the industry is still as it was in the past when those airdrops and giveaway were worth something but they forget that a new marketing technique has been introduced and those free things aren't worth it anymore. Giveaways and airdrops are now mostly used by scammers and if we want to participate in them, we should use a separate wallats and device that doesn't have any coin and won't be connected to our main account so Incase it get infected we would be affected.
