I don't know what makes this goalkeeper so special, but seeing Dortmund's move to extend his contract, it is certain that they want to secure the goalkeeper's services to stay with Dortmund for longer. Maybe until now Bayern Munich have not found an ideal goalkeeper and only by relying on Sven Ulreich their chances of winning the Bundesliga again will be difficult. Bayern Munich will be vulnerable to conceding goals if they don't get a goalkeeper with good quality and lots of experience at their previous club. This will be quite a complicated matter for Bayern Munich to determine their next goalkeeper targetGregor Kobel is Dortmund's current mainstay goalkeeper and it has been proven that extending his contract is enough to prove that Gregor Kobel has shown his best abilities while at the club.
Dortmund is known for selling talented players like Haaland and Bellingham, so it is very likely that if Bayern Munich is able to pay a high price for this goalkeeper, it is not impossible that Dortmund will hand over the goalkeeper easily.
So far, Dortmund is still quite stable this season and is not much different from last season, being in 4th place at the moment is not a bad thing for Dortmund because the club can still chase points to stay in the top 4 of the standings.
