After the appearance of Jude Bellingham, currently, Luka Modric is no longer an untouchable name in the Real Madrid squad. There, Jude Bellingham continuously became a hero with great performances. Since the beginning of the season, he has only started 4 times in all competitions. Modric respects coach Ancelotti's decision. At the age of 38, Modric affirmed that he is still healthy enough to play regularly. The contract between Modric and Real Madrid will expire next summer. With his playing time decreasing, whether Real Madrid management will ask him to extend his short-term contract is still to be determined. But if the situation does not change, he should leave the Bernabeu this January.
Madrid will not extend his contract and modric shall try to open his mind. he can try to join in the saudi pro league and play together with cristiano ronaldo. This is the best decision for him caused by modric may be difficult to find a new club due to the age factor.
His is old enough to play in the european league. Modric can comeback to his country or join in the saudi pro league where many great players which are aged playing together. It's not something bad for him although he had same opinion like kroos regarding saudi pro league.
Tony kroos may also leave from there too. Im expecting madrid to lose one guy from kroos or modric. I don't know who since madrid has not yet decided it but we will be missing one midfielder.
Perhaps real madrid will change its mind and i do believe modric has more probability to leave from real madrid upcoming season. I would like to see him join in the saudi pro league instead of announcing his retirement.
