Surprisingly Afghanistan won the toss but decided to bowl first, I expected to follow the same formula which is bat first, put a decent total then they have a very good bowling unit to be a threat even if its 230+ score since the match is happening in Chennai which is highly spin friendly pitch.
The match started already and AFG dropped an early chance, which they can't afford to do if they want to bear a team with this form.
Afghan batting is in poor shape and that maybe the reason why they chose to field first. Even during the match against England, it was individual performance from two batsmen (Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ikram Alikhil) that enabled them to post a good total. Hashmatullah Shahidi made 80 against India, but he didn't contributed in the other two matches. Azmatullah Omarzai also made 62 against India, but got out cheaply in other matches. Others like Rahmat Shah Zurmatai, Ibrahim Zadran and Mohammad Nabi are yet to contribute positively with the bat.
