Harry Maguire is not a defender anymore. He is someone who you would like to see in the outfit of your opponent, not yours. After so many incredible mistakes that he made, I am definitely surprised that he is still in the Manchester United squad. And the thing is, he still plays regularly as the first-team player. That actually amazes me a lot. And meanwhile, we have the quote saying that he is still a very important player for the squad. Honestly, I think the coach has gone mad. He should be checked if his mental health is actually okay or not.
I don't think there's anything wrong with the coach or his decision to allow Maguire to play for the club. Maguire has already spent a significant amount of time on the bench as a result of his poor performance for the club. After this period, I saw some progress in his game and believe he should be given another chance to prove himself worthy of his position. He is also starting for England, and I see no reason why he won't start for Manchester United if his style of play fits with the playing formation they intend to utilise for the match.
The arrival of Onana came with alot of expectations cause as Erik Ten Hag succeded in kicking David Degea our of the team alot of fans expected a very better and talented player that's young and would serve the team for a long term but however Erik Ten Hag decided to bring in one of his former goalie he trust and since then he's made alot of errors thats cost the team to lose matches.
Well if Onana want to maintain his role at Manchester United then he should train daily and try his best to save his team some embarrassement this season, and at 27 it would be very bad to be performing very bad for a team like Manchester, well the coach believes in him but I feel sooner or later if Onana fails to improve he'll be replaced with the 2nd choice keeper from Turkey.
I believe that putting too much faith in a player is a bad idea. Because when a player joins a new team, he does not immediately comprehend their game pattern. This takes time. Onana's poor performance cannot be condemned solely on him; any error from the defence will always result in a goal, for which the goalkeeper will be blamed every time. If Manchester United wants to see Onana improve, they must also improve their defence. Only then will Onana's worth be recognised, and Eric Ten Hag would be praised for bringing him to the club.
