I'm thinking like the main reason why David de Gea couldn't find a team for himself is his high salary expectation. He couldn't reach an agreement with Manchester United because of this reason. I thought that maybe Bayern Munich would be keen on signing him but they didn't want to go for him either. They preferred a young talent named Daniel Peretz instead.

If Bayern Munich didn't spend a lot of money on Kane transfer then maybe they would have made an official offer for de Gea who knows. Because it took them even a long time to reach an agreement for Kane transfer at a price as favourable as possible.

I personally not so sure de Gea is still demanding for a high salary, because if considered from the situation that happened like this then maybe in the transfer market later de Gea is willing to be paid lower . Anyway, basically de Gea age is also no longer able to play for the long term, so it is quite reasonable if big teams like Bayern Munich are not willing to pay expensive de Gea . Also, if de Gea demands to be paid dearly, then the only option is to play in the Saudi Pro League, but in fact de Gea also rejected the offer there.

That is quite reasonable and also maybe for the current conditions De Gea will also not be too concerned about the amount of salary, maybe he just wants to enjoy his last days as a professional goalkeeper even with a salary that may not be as high as before when still defending Manchester United. As we know how De Gea looks and performs during his 12 years of service for Ten Hag's squad, he has a big contribution there and became one of the world's most expensive goalkeepers at the time, with all the contributions and saves he has made I think this is more than enough to prove his quality, but for now the situation is different. He is no longer young, and it makes sense as I said above, if there is one club that wants him in the upcoming transfer window I think he will accept it even with a salary that is not too significant because being over 30 years old is no longer a young age for a goalkeeper, prone to experiencing things that are not wanted such as possible injuries and his quality will definitely decrease.

Perhaps that is one of the reasons why Bayern Munich stopped in the hunt for De Gea last season and focused more on allocating its target on Tottenham striker Harry Kane even though negotiations were very tough. Yes, initially I thought De Gea would go to the Arab league like other players when he was no longer young, but apparently not.
