If Bayern Munich didn't spend a lot of money on Kane transfer then maybe they would have made an official offer for de Gea who knows. Because it took them even a long time to reach an agreement for Kane transfer at a price as favourable as possible.
I personally not so sure de Gea is still demanding for a high salary, because if considered from the situation that happened like this then maybe in the transfer market later de Gea is willing to be paid lower .
