Budget: set it BEFORE you start gambling and stick to it.
Also that the budget on gambling weekly should not be higher than 2 to 5% of the gambler weekly income.

Have a break from time to time, it is important to let your brain stop and consider.
Gambling should be for fun. It should not be what someone should consider to give a break for, but to be done at a very short period of time weekly.

Gamblers should not chase losses too

in my experience, if you are on the losing side while you are playing the game. take a pause, assess the situation and check where you are at your set budget. sometimes gamblers are getting lost once they are suffering losses after losses. and they forget all the budget constraints they have.
you need to be firm with your decision if you are setting your limits. always check yourself if you want to continue or not, see the bigger picture of what you're about to execute.

Here's my take. gambling is fun and okay as long as you're responsible enough on your time, money and decisions. you can play/bet as long as you want but you have to set a time limitations and budget for that to avoid huge monetary loss and to prevent the addiction as well. you might feel frustrated if you experienced the loss and it's okay but make sure that you're not chasing wins/losses. Self discipline is the key.
