No. They are too furry and selfish. Too much pain - not enough profit.
Keeping animals is
never for profit of any type. If that is your attitude - then you are the selfish one and thoroughly unqualified to have an animal.

I don't think they have a problem with being selfish, using large numbers of animals to create their desired outcome has been their job since millenia.
(and I think not even they would dispose of some cats just because they don't catch enough mice - they simply have learned to live in a functional symbiosis with various animals - both involved species benefit in their own way)
It's a different story with animals kept at ordinary homes anyway.
I think what you're looking for is the difference between animals and pets.
