Bad news for England
There is a bad news for England through today's match especially if England get all out before 169 then England will be at the bottom of the points table. Even Afghanistan, ranked 10th, will hold their own and may not qualify to qualify for the semi-finals/final of the World Cup. It is very likely that England will be all out before 169 runs today. Meanwhile, England have lost their top 6 batsmen for 73 runs. For which England is under huge pressure, England will lose today's match by a huge margin.
If any such condition is given then England has already fulfilled that condition. They have already met the target of 169 runs. Oh my god England were bowled out for 170 runs which was the highest defeat of 229 runs in this world cup. England were bowled out for 170 with Topley out due to injury and they blamed their batting failure.
England is already ninth in the points table and Afghanistan is tenth in the points table. Although there is slight difference in their NRR.
Out of 4 matches, England won only one match. Only against Bangladesh they got a big win. Even then, the England team is behind Bangladesh in the points table. I don't think they have any chance of making it to the semi-finals anymore. Because the performance of South Africa and Australia is now better than England. India, New Zealand, South Africa and Australia are likely to qualify for the semi-finals.
We never imagined that 2019 champions England would perform so badly. As England have won only against Bangladesh and lost the remaining three matches, England's chances of winning will also become difficult in the later matches as well.
The only weak opponent with the pace of England's game is the Netherlands and the rest of the teams will be very difficult for England. Although there is a possibility of England to win fifty-fifty with Sri Lanka but it will be a great competition with Australia, India, Pakistan in this case it is not possible to imagine which team will win.
Even before the World Cup we have seen a good performance from England. However, their performance was erratic. Even then their performance was not that poor. Now their performance is very poor. In the previous matches we saw erratic batting from England's batsmen but their bowlers did quite well. But in today's match I saw England's poor batting as well as their bowlers' poor performance. South Africa probably mustered 140+ runs in the last 10 overs. England's bowlers should learn from Pakistan how to bowl in the death overs. Yesterday we saw some great bowling from the Pakistani bowlers in the death overs. England's bowlers would have given 80-90 runs in the last 10 overs. Then maybe the match would have been competitive. If the target was like 340, England's batsmen would not have been under so much pressure. England would not have lost wickets so quickly if they could bat freely.
