Two in-form teams failed to meet. Lens drew 1-1 with PSV at home. Of course this result is a success for PSV. If I remember correctly, Lens finished 2nd in the league last season with 1 point difference behind PSG. A 1-1 draw away to a team that dominated the French league last season must be promising. Both teams had plenty of chances but didn't make the most of them. We could have seen more goals in the match. I don't know if PSV can get out of the group but I think this group will be more competitive than the other groups.
Lens has been the season's biggest surprise. Who could have foreseen their meteoric rise following that astonishing victory over Arsenal? I did not anticipate it, to be honest. The caveat is that they should not become complacent. The fact that PSV tied them at home should serve as a wake-up call. However, I believe Lens will be truly tested in away encounters. If they can overcome these obstacles, particularly against Arsenal and PSV, their chances may improve. The final match between PSV and Sevilla will be a thriller! Lets just say that I will have my popcorn ready.
