yes because gambling has made them addicted even though they always lose but successful gambling makes them crazy to gamble. They pursue satisfaction that never gets so they continue to gamble with high hopes of winning, occasionally they will win but because they are crazy about gambling so they don't have a sense of satisfaction because they haven't reached their highest point, so they will continue to chase that empty dream with hope.
Whatever results they get, it will make them still crazy about gambling and they will continue to gamble even more often than before. They cannot control themselves to limit their gambling because they still hope to win more money from gambling. And when they lose from gambling, they will only experience disappointment and perhaps anger because they have lost and that causes them to return to gambling again. They will not be able to realize that gambling is just for fun.

Yes it is true, it is also difficult for them to realize the impact of gambling if they are already crazy. Even though they have lost many times, their ambition to pursue victory will not just disappear, maybe they will be satisfied when they win with a very large value so they can have their own gambling company hahaha. I myself feel sorry for them but sometimes I also want to laugh at those who are ambitious to get rich quickly with gambling. anger, greed, that's what must be removed from themselves when they gamble, I see people who play gambling but not to the point of being crazy, maybe they gamble with the aim of entertainment, nothing more than that.

That's right even though they get support or encouragement but they themselves don't realize the bad effects of gambling it's a waste of time, advice and suggestions will pass by without them being considered in the future. I myself admit that getting rid of inherent habits is difficult, in my opinion gambling addiction is not much different from drug addiction, I have seen people who are heavily addicted to gambling where they have not gambled because their money has run out but they sell all the things they have to return to gambling, the same is the case with drug addiction, they will do anything to return to the addiction that has been attached to them. So as you said the importance of self-awareness must be set in their mindset.
That means his family has wasted their time trying to advise the gambler to realize his mistake because the gambler still doesn't want to accept advice from anyone. It is difficult for gamblers to realize their mistakes because no one can change their mindset and they think they are right and for this reason, they continue gambling. Gambling addiction is indeed difficult to get rid of and it requires a lot of things to be able to make gamblers who are addicted to gambling realize their mistakes. Their mindset must really be changed by providing understanding and perhaps real evidence that they have a serious gambling addiction. There are still ways that those closest to him can do to help the gambling addict to cure his gambling addiction.

Most gambling addicts do not accept advice or input from other people, friends or family, because they are convinced that gambling will give them a big win so they don't care about input or advice from people. It's hard if they can't accept input and advice, I myself can only give advice when my friend is heavily addicted to gambling and explain the bad effects of gambling. people who have given input and advice will get fed up if he still can't realize the losses he has lost because of gambling. So just let the addict spend their whole life until they die if they can't change their mindset.
