Well actually is always expected that whenever the Xmas period is close the price of commodities, household things, and almost every other things tends to increases because people are using the medium to get all the things they would need for the Xmas with the reason that the prices may increase more than the way it is now and however making the demand of goods and services very high which will result to increase in price.

Because in times of business we have law of deman and supply, so every spike in price during Xmas period is as a result of higher demand of commodities, so is a normal thing in business perspective.
Well it’s not the first time we are experiencing increment of commodity at festive times, and yet people still survive and celebrate the holidays the best way they can. You made a solid point there when you say price of goods goes up when there is higher in demand of the product in the market. This is just the concept of economics. We may see the price of goods going up x4 of it usual price now that our naira is noting to write home about. Even in this rough time we Nigerians we know how to survive tough times the government has trained us to be survivals instead of citizens, our govt has always failed us we don’t even expect anything much from them anymore that’s how bad it is being.
There are so many factors affecting the price of these goods, the most important one is transportation, which is one even out locally made products seem to be expensive this is because the cost of transporting this goods to consumers is high, this is cause of bad roads and high cost of fuel. Transportation is one of our major problem in the country right now.
