Once again the Dutch top order and middle order collapses. But this time the collapse occurred after they got a good start. Max O'Dowd and Colin Ackermann took them to 73/1 at one point and then they lost quick wickets to be at 134/7. The way some of the Dutch batsmen got themselves out was just shocking (example is Scott Edwards). Sybrand Engelbrecht is batting along with Roelof van der Merwe, but I don't expect them to get to 200. And in order to have any chance of winning, they need to get to at least 250.
Dutch player should blame their selves. after a very descent start , the time when they put lot of pressure on Afghanistan bowlers they makes lot of mistakes. In big match like today you couldn't bear 4 top order batsmen run out. Edward is very good players of spin ball and he has 50 above average against spin but he also run out. Afghanistan is now favorite in the match and this win will give them hope to qualify for semifinal too.
Well, this is called lack of experience and not big matches experience by the Dutch team. Remember Netherlands is the newbie team among all the other teams and hence we can expect them to fail in a big match with a lot of pressure on the players. Four runouts show the anxiety in the players. Max O'Dowd and Colin Ackermann gave a good start to the Netherlands team and then Sybrand Engelbrecht made 58 runs, the dutch players should have capitalized on this start but not to be.
Afghanistan on the other hand, is playing very calmly and with responsibility. Although the openers got out cheaply but then Rahmat Shah making 52 runs and Hashmatullah Shahidi also played good and taking their team to yet another important victory. I must say, that Afghanistan look like a strong contender for the semi final spot.
