It's only the manager of the club that is saddled with the responsibility of providing the best tactical approach that'll help the team get good results and that's why he's been held accountable when the team is underperforming.
Erik Ten Hag have been very poor with his tactical approaches since the start of the season and it's has really affected the result of Manchester United this season. The club's performance keeps on getting worse instead of improving and if they continue with their current form, they are likely to finish the season half of the season. Erik Ten Hag must as a matter of urgency try and sort out the current issues that's making them to underperform or should be sacked.
From what I see, Erik Ten Hag seems to have run out of ways and tactics to master the game in the Premier League. So, with its current quality, wanting Man United to be truly productive is very difficult. Nothing was suitable or it was Erik Ten Hag himself who forced players who clearly could not meet his criteria as a coach. In my opinion, this season, if Manchester United manages to improve its poor performance, it still won't be able to secure a Champions League ticket next season. There are still many decent clubs this season such as Newcastle/Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Manchester United's catastrophic dip in form this season has been shocking in the extreme, no doubt about it. From progressing in Ten Hag's first season they have lurched into reverse, almost without warning. For sure, Manchester United's bad form will definitely raise questions about Ten Hag's approach. I remember when they hired Ole; he had a style which was counter attacking football. I think with him they knew they were not going to be playing possesion football but his transitions were so good. They scored loads of goals. Now there’s Ten Hag. Honestly if he can not play his own brand of football then he has failed. He has already signed enough players to play what he wants to play.
Every manager has a style and if they go to a new club, they still introduce that style of play in the new team. Pep went to Bayern Munich, despite the critics, he played the style of football he knows best, dominated and succeeded. Same thing with this Arsenal manager, Arteta, despite his early struggles, stuck with his beautiful possesion based football.
