Don't bet, period. Gambling is for losers.
betting is fine. just do not bet at the wrong odds ie gambling.
If you mine at a pooling you are making a favorable bet if
A) your power is cheap
B) your gear is cheap
C) you have someone to repair the gear.
So you are investing with that bet.
but if you mine at a solo pool with a high cost of hash you are gambling with that bet.
I will agree with you philip insofar as betting versus investing is on a spectrum,
but I am not going to concede that .... .forget it.. At this time, I need not say more.
