they believe that since they watched a few influencers making some money that they already know everything there is to know about gambling and they can begin to use casinos as their personal ATMs, a completely ridiculous notion, as if that was possible then casinos as a business will disappear as no business can sustain those losses for long.
Influencers are among the reasons why some people are finding it very difficult to stop gambling, since those influencers are always posting their wins on their social media, so it always serves as motivation to their fans, so they are always having the mindset that they are also going to win big if they don’t give up. Most of those influencers have things that they are doing where they are making money apart from gambling, but some of their followers take gambling as their only source of income. They are always desperate to win money because they need to win for survival.
Chasing of losses has been a major problem I think gamblers are facing because most of the addiction came as a result of chasing of losses to recover all they have lost, but in the process of doing so, they keep losing more and more as they continue to chase their losses.
Some gamblers constantly feel awful about themselves once they lose, and they will do everything possible to win back their losses. Addiction always set in when they try to win back what they have lost. They think that if they can stop gambling, all of the money they have lost will already be gone, therefore they will seek to recover their losses. They won’t have the intention of quitting gambling, and they'll always want to bet more money in the hopes of making up for all the losses.
