These are the six teams that have been confirmed to qualify for the round of 16 and their journey will definitely be easier in the remaining group stage matches. Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Inter, Leipzig and Manchester City are regular teams in the top 16 and perhaps seeing Real Sociedad's struggle so far in qualifying with this strong team is certainly a good record for them after being absent from this competition for so long. Real Sociedad managed to eliminate Salzburg and Benfica from Group D competition and they succeeded in placing themselves at the top with the same points as Inter. Real Sociedad's performance in the domestic league and champions league is equally good and they deserve this result.
These are teams who have qualified,topping their groups,I am kind of surprised at Liepzig because I didn't expect them to qualify that easy.By next game,we will see the team that will follow them,and I think one of those teams are Dortmund and Arsenal who are currently leading their group with 9 points.I really don't know the team that will win this Champions league trophy because most teams are really inform and are aiming for that tittle as well,teams like City,Bayern,Dortmund,Inter and even Arsenal,they are strong contenders for the champions league tittle.I really don't see City being able to defend this tittle because there are teams who seems stronger than City now.
I think the most surprising team on this list is Real Sociedad after all. Leipzig came out of the group last year and immediately fell to Manchester City, where they finished right behind them. But Real Sociedad is not a frequent guest not only in the 1/8 finals, but also in the group stage of the Champions League. The last match with Benfica Real Sociedad played perfect. Almost everything was decided in the first half, scoring 3 goals and could score more, but did not realize the penalty. Real Sociedad will be interesting to watch in the 1/8 finals.
