Today's match was irrelevant for all practical purposes. Afghanistan should be happy with the fact that they qualified for the 2025 Champions Trophy. When the tournament started, I didn't had much hope for Afghanistan, as their recent form was very poor. Even during the Asia Cup, they failed to qualify for the Super-4 stage. But they surprised everyone in this tournament. After the initial setback against Bangladesh, they managed to defeat three very strong teams (Sri Lanka, England and Pakistan).
