Pep Guardiola was very unlucky during this season in Manchester City.
We know Kevin De Bruyne was one of the most important players in Manchester City but this player was injured hard at the start of the reason which damaged the whole team.
Now while we are on FIFA day, Ederson and Mateo Kovačić both are injured and this is bad news for Guardiola because they are going to have hard games against Tottenham and Liverpool soon.

Unlucky?
Seriously Pep is one of most lucky coaches in Premier League and can be the most luckiest coach in the league too. Manchester City give him a lot of money for transfers and allows him great power to control many things in the club, transfer strategy, choose players he want to buy or sell, free to do his management job in squad tactic, free to use his creative tactics. Manchester City have a deepest player resource amongst many clubs in Premier League in the last 6 seasons.
Even in the last season, Pep already used Kevin De Bruyne less than previous seasons. It is an early signal that he plans to gradually replace the Belgium midfielder. The injury of the player in Champions League final last season and a long time he needs to fully recover is a minus point for Pep selection for the squad but he has many other players to use. Lastly Manchester City don't fall into a massive injury crisis like Liverpool last season.
