Was talking just yesterday about renewing efforts to take CASH under the control of the community (which is obviously not needed now hopefully).

Was trying to figure if it would be worth switching it to an X11 algo instead of Scrypt to stop it ending up as an ASIC coin. Not sure which would be better, welcoming the ASICs or hiding from them!?

Personally love the X11 algo and it's currently the only one I can run with 5 cards due to a RMAing PSU, if you're capable, might worth considering Mr Dev dude.

No real need as the PoW block payout algorithm with a large hashrate will diminish. Remember higher hash rate is lower block rewards.

Oh, I remember, it's one of my favourite features, but it doesn't help the GPU miners.
There's a decision to be made, either have the coin be controlled by a few people with ASICs by staying on Scrypt or switch to an alternative algo to have LOTS of people mining on GPUS.

Staying on Scrypt COULD be dangerous in the early days of ASICs as controlling <50% will be really easy, not sure if the POS will be strong enough to keep the network secure.

I think in the LONG term, ASICs are crucial to Cryptos to keep the mining costs down (electricity usage) but while the prices are high it means a small number of people control the entire network.
