If India had not batted first, they might not have been able to put up such a big score. And today batting in the first innings scored 397 runs for the loss of 4 wickets which I think is one of the biggest scores. Moreover, in Indian team Virat Kohli has batted brilliantly in every match and scored centuries and in today's match too he batted brilliantly and scored 117 runs. Iyer also had a great batting performance scoring a century of 105 runs, every player batting well which led to such a big score.
