I personally actually see that Manchester United really needs to take advantage of the upcoming transfer market to get several back line players to improve their poor defense from the start of this season. And it seems that there are already several defenders who are being targeted by Manchester United in the transfer market. Some of them are defenders who Manchester United failed to bring in in the transfer market yesterday, such as Jean-Clair Todibo. But I think that in this transfer market, Manchester United will most likely fail again in trying to bring in Jean-Clair Todibo. But there are many other options that could be a good choice. In essence, the critical condition that is currently Manchester United's weakness is the back line.
In ucl , Man United managed to score 9 goals but conceded 11. In the EPL, they scored 13 goals but let in 16. The real issue here is whether it's the defense or the attack that's going wrong. The goal-scoring is quite low, and in some EPL matches, Man United only won narrowly, like 1-0 or 2-1 facing underdog team. For me, their attacking line needs improvement. The Red Devils' goal production is quite low, and it makes me doubt the sharpness of Man United's attack.

Or maybe all lines are having issues? Despite being in 6th place, I feel Chelsea is stronger than Man United. It seems like Man United won't secure a spot in the top 5 this season if their performance doesn't change. Their playing style, relying heavily on long balls, seems like that of an underdog struggling to build attacks. MU is in big trouble right now.
