Yeah, you heard me right. Today I was scrolling through some Instagram Reels and I saw a video of a person saying this. I'm still confused. Should I laugh or should I feel sorry for that person? So here's how the whole video goes. The man said and I quote" I saw my salary on a bottle of perfume today. So you are saying that someone out there smells like my salary."

That is life because seeing the amount that many luxury things cost for a middle-class person, it cost a lot. He just sees a perfume that costs his salary, then what of a shoe that costs the monthly salary of almost 5 workers, and the worst case is that these 5 workers are not alone but they have family and they feed well. So in life, what you use for a month is what someone spends for a single item.

Seeing his salary cost a perfume won’t make me feel surprised because I have ever seen a video that I confirmed and found out is true: a roasted fish that cost 5.5 million Naira in Nigeria, so in dollars, this is almost $5,500, so just see what a fish that you will eat costs and imagine the salary of other people.

I bring up this to talk about financial freedom. What is financial freedom to you? Is it about having a certain amount of money that is required to have financial freedom or to have an amount of money which can potentially give you freedom in the future?

To me, financial freedom is not just having all that I need but accumulating a large amount of money and properties to be able to provide for my needs, my friend's needs, my family's needs, and also to provide for the needy (those that are suffering in life and need help in their daily lives, like the poor, who need shelter, food, clothing, adequate healthcare services, and many others). So when I am thinking about getting financial freedom, I always think about what I can also do to provide for others, because seeing myself helping others makes me happy.
