The first defeat that Tottenham suffered this season was from Chelsea because of two red cards that their players received. Cristian Romero is famous for playing quite hard so it is not uncommon for bettors to bet on him to get a card, and with only 9 players playing, Chelsea is the team that has the advantage because after the second red card Chelsea managed to score 3 goals against Tottenham, and when they suffered the defeat against Wolves it was the most surprising thing and the factor of several core players not being able to play was also one of the causes of these two defeats.
Unfortunately, in the next four matches, Tottenham will face 3 quite tough matches so it is very possible that we will see them decline further, so competition will return between Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool and we see Tottenham as a team that will no longer be consistent unless they can quickly recover from these two consecutive defeats
Yes, even without the red cards, the Tottenham team will drop some points when they start to face big teams like Manchester City, Chelsea, and others. We can see their performance in their matches against Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea; this clearly shows that they cannot comfortably compete for the league title with the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal because just small injuries and red cards made them lose a match against Wolves, which means that their bench is not strong enough to hold the team when their key players are absent.
Tottenham started the season very well and I don't think anyone expected that they would be able to get first place, even if it was only for a while. I think the reason why Tottenham can't maintain their position at the top of the standings is because they don't have the winning mentality that Man City and Liverpool have. When they lost against Chelsea, it really affected their confidence and this was exacerbated when they lost against Wolves.
