De Gea is a good goalkeeper in saving skills and he loves Manchester United after many years there. If Manchester United and Ten Hag were more cleverly, they would have been kept De Gea in their club and use him as an alternative goalkeeper for Onana. I believe De Gea will accept that position as so far he did not join any club.
De Gea really wanted to stay in Manchester United, he is really in love with Manchester United, but ten hag really made the mistake of sending him out of the club. I am not against Ten Hag signing Onana, but he should have just kept De Gea as the second goalkeeper. Now that he is not getting what he wanted from Onana, De Gea will have been available as backup. De Gea was ready to accept a pay cut just to stay in Manchester United, it shows that he really wanted to stay in United.
Onana is over rated because he has better passing skills than De Gea but in general, combining all skills of a goalkeeper, I think he is not a better goalkeeper than De Gea. Hopefully Ten Hag will not have to pay an expensive cost by his coach position because of his belief in Onana.
The only reason why Ten Hag wanted Onana was just because of the passing skill, and that’s the only way that Onana is better than De Gea, but we all know De Gea to be a better goalkeeper than Onana. Ten hag had confidence in Onana, hoping he was going to perform better, but everyone hasn’t been satisfied with Onana’s performance yet since he was signed. He has been conceding lots of goals, but I am not blaming Onana alone for that. Manchester United’s defense is so weak, which has contributed to Onana conceding goals in most of their matches.
