Yea Girona is a club that doesn't seem to be able to challenge Real Madrid and Barcelona in the trophy race because we see them not as strong as these other two clubs since onset. But I think this season has been a different one for Girona because they have gone through so many challenges and they came out victorious where some of the big club like Barcelona is still facing some turbulence.
We might be thinking that because Girona is not among the top four most time in Laliga, that they will not be able to win the trophy but at the same time, anything can happen and that is why this is football because you should expect the unexpected. Girona might shock the world this season and win the trophy. Although, I am not saying that they are the favorite here but let's not underrate them because they were the least expected to be in the position that they are currently on the table.

They earned their spot in the league through hard work, but they must work harder to keep it. I'm not doubting that they can't win the league or keep other teams from passing them, but the league is incredibly competitive, and every team, especially Real Madrid and Barcelona, will be striving to seize the top spot.
